It's a busy day in the office, today! Youth volunteers are here and helping to prepare for this evening's Have a Safe Summer event at the Four Seasons Centre which is coordinated by Mayo Clinic Health System. We received a fresh delivery of books (thanks to Southern MN Initiative Foundation) to make available for the kids this evening.
We also have one of our 2023 Tax Team volunteers, Jeff Kramer, coming in to continue preparing taxes for local individuals in need. CPA's and other tax professionals will attest to this - the annual tax deadline doesn't mean that tax preparation completely stops. Many of the individuals we serve post-deadline have renters rebates and property tax rebates that they still need to file. We know that every dollar back in the pocket of those we serve makes a meaningful impact to them as well as Steele County.
We're also quickly approaching this year's Power of the Purse event! Tickets are nearly sold out - we're now 17 days away from the start of the silent auction. Women United members were in the office yesterday getting photos of the silent auction items taken care. Thanks so much to volunteer, Nikki Erickson, for offering her photography skills! 55 silent auction packages were photographed before the evening ended.
