United Way of Steele County is proud to offer Free Tax Preparation Services to low-income residents of Steele County. We have a few different options for how we can assist you.  Please complete the form below and we will reach out to you with these options. This service is FREE and available for households that earned less than $84,000 in 2024.

Tax Services We Can Provide:

• 2024 Federal (Individual) Income Taxes
• 2024 State (Individual) Income Taxes
• 2024 MN Property Tax (Homestead Credit) Refund
  • For MN Homeowners - 2024 Household total income less than $139,320
• 2024 MN Renter's Property Tax Refund
  • For MN Renters - 2024 Household total income less than $75,390
  • RENTERS: Minnesota has updated the filing process starting with 2024. You will not need to file an M1PR meaning your credit will not be separate from your income tax refund or amount owed going forward. Click here for more information.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR 2024 TAX SEASON! Please register below and we will contact you to complete your intake process over the phone. Tax Preparation Assistance appointments for the 2024 Income Tax season will start in mid-February 2025. Appointments will need to be scheduled. No walk-ins accepted.
