Unlocking the Power of Community

Mark your calendars for June 11, 2024, as United Way Steele County, Women United presents its much-anticipated 11th annual Power of the Purse event. A celebration of empowerment, generosity, and community impact. Hosted at the Owatonna Country Club, this evening promises to be a memorable fusion of philanthropy and fashion, all in support of advancing the lives of children in Steele County.

At the heart of this event is the silent auction, where attendees have the chance to bid on handbags, experiences, and other fantastic items generously donated by local businesses and individuals. Each winning bid is not just a fashion statement but a statement of solidarity with the mission of Women United.

Beyond the auction, the event offers a multitude of experiences such as a live auction, mystery wine pull, and a purse tree. Guests will gather for dinner and drinks amidst the ambiance of the Owatonna Country Club; setting the stage for an evening of laughter, camaraderie, and shared purpose.

Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand impact from individuals whose lives have been transformed through the programs supported by Women United. These narratives serve as powerful testaments to the tangible difference that collective action can make in Steele County.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit United Way of Steele County’s early childhood initiatives. Empowering children to reach their full potential and thrive. By investing in education, Women United fosters a community where every child can succeed.

At the Owatonna Country Club on June 11, let us not only celebrate the power of philanthropy but also reaffirm our commitment to building a brighter future for all Steele County children.
